Rex Leonard Holtsclaw, 42, of Altamont, died unexpectedly on Sunday, July 5, 2015 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.A native of Avery County, he was a son of Hildred Maltba Holtsclaw of Altamont. He was a Truck Driver with heavy equipment.In addition to his mother, he leaves behind a daughter, Ashley Clark of the home; sisters, Amber Barrier, and her husband, David, of Burke, NC, Pamela Calloway of Newland; nephews, Allen Barrier, Dillion Barrier; nieces, Brandy Calloway, Destiny Lowery and Taylor Lowery.Services for Rex Holtsclaw will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Beam officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until the service hour Friday at the funeral home.
