Phillip Dale Carpenter, age 34, of Newland, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center, the results of a four wheeler accident..He was born on November 20, 1982 in Watauga County, North Carolina, a son of Ruth Crump Carpenter and the late William Cecil CarpenterHe enjoyed being in the outdoors and running heavy equipment for construction. Phillip also enjoyed working on cars and other automotive equipment.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Chris Carpenter.He is survived by his mother, Ruth Carpenter of Newland; brothers, Steve Carpenter, and his wife, Debbie of Newland, Norman Carpenter of Newland, Sherman Carpenter of Newland, Richard Carpenter, and his wife, Teresa of Newland; sisters, Betty Ann Boyd, and her husband, Mike, of Morganton, Brenda Williamson, of Morganton, Lola Carpenter of Newland, Cindy Thomas, and her husband, Steve, of Newland;Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.
