William Sherman Carpenter, age 54, of Newland, North Carolina passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN. He was born on February 15, 1964 in Avery County, North Carolina, a son of William Cecil Carpenter and Mary Crump Carpenter. Sherman enjoyed fishing, wood burning, and tinkering with engines. Granddaughters; Kylee Carpenter, Lala Watson Services for William Sherman Carpenter will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 beginning at 4:00 pm from the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Gragg officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm on Friday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
